A nurse from Nevada who rushed to New York City to assist in the Coronavirus outbreak posted a disturbing video online alleging COVID-19 patients are being “murdered” by “gross negligence and complete medical mismanagement.”
The nurse, identified as Nicole Sirotek, claims she would advocate for her black and Hispanic patients only to be taken off the cases.
“I legitimately don’t even know what to do anymore. Even advocacy groups don’t give a shit about these people,” Sirotek says in the video. “Black lives don’t matter here.”
“I know not everybody is going to live. I’m not that fucking green, or ignorant, or bright eyed and bushy tailed to think that. I know we’re going to have a shit ton of people die, but these people aren’t dying from COVID.”
Sirotek says an anesthesiologists’ malpractice during an intubation led to one death of one patient. She says another was given unneeded chest compressions and also died. Another claim is a patient died after being given the wrong insulin.
“We’re not even treating the COVID guys, for real, we’re not treating the COVID,” Sirotek says.
“This is going to be kind of an extreme example, but this is really the only thing I can come up with. It’s like if we were in Nazi Germany and they were like, taking the Jews to go put them in a gas chamber, I’m the one there saying like, ‘hey, this is not good, this is bad, this is wrong, we should not be doing this.’ Then everyone tells me ‘hang in there, you’re doing a great job. You can’t save everybody. You’re amazing. You’re a great nurse.’”
“Stay out of New York City for your health care. They don’t care what is happening to these people. […] It’s like going into the fuking Twilight Zone,” she said.
According to the New York Post, Sirotek was assigned to Elmhurst Hospital in Queens before being transferred to another facility.
