SOUTH BEND, INDIANA – United States Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana, David Capp, announced that Isaiah Beavers, age 26, of South Bend, Indiana was arrested and charged by criminal complaint for threats posted using the Internet.

Beavers was arrested over the weekend by the FBI and the South Bend Police Department and appeared this afternoon before a United States Magistrate Judge for an initial appearance. The United States Attorney’s Office is seeking pre-trial detention and the detention hearing is set for Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 2:00PM.

The complaint alleges that Beavers made a series of postings on social media referencing the rally scheduled in South Bend for this past Saturday evening. The exact language of his posts are contained in the affidavit that supported the criminal complaint; both the criminal complaint and affidavit have been unsealed following Mr. Beavers’ initial appearance today.
