JUST IN: 2 Missing Teens Found Dead

ASHEVILLE, North Carolina — Buncombe County–

Officials said two teens who have been missing since December were found dead in a car in the French Broad River on Tuesday night.

Lieutenant Randy Sorrells with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office said they received a report of a car in the river. Sorrells said the car was removed and the tag number was matched to a missing persons report in the area.

Sorrells said the bodies of Aida Bytyqi and Swayne Forsythe, both 19, were in the car.


 

EARLIER MISSING REPORT:

Deputies said the family of Swayne Forsythe reported him missing Dec. 31.

Forsythe’s family said they dropped the man off at his Pepperbrush Trail home in Arden after his shift at World Market on Dec. 29, according to deputies.

Forsythe was later seen walking away from the BP Gas Station at Long Shoals Road and Schenk Parkway, deputies said. he was wearing a white hooded sweat shirt and carrying a black backpack.
