MONTGOMERY, Alabama — Anthony Ray Hinton is set to be released from prison a free man after spending more than a quarter century behind bars. Hinton was convicted of two murders related to 1985 fast-food restaurant robberies.
Prosecutors now say forensic experts can’t determine if crime scene bullets came from a gun found in Hinton’s home, the AP reported.
Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge Laura Petro issued an order Thursday dismissing the case.
