JUST IN: Colorado Mesa Univ. Student Dead After Fall From Dorm Window

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The victim identified as Spencer Pannwitz, 20, died in what the school president calls an ‘accidental’ fall.

He was a sophomore at the school.

According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, CMU President Tim Foster sent a message to students telling them the death was especially difficult for students and faculty because it occurred on campus.

Mesa County Chief Deputy Coroner Victor Yahn says the cause of death was multiple injuries and the manner of death is still being determined. He says foul play is not suspected.

An investigation is ongoing.

Colorado Mesa University, formerly known as Mesa State College, is a public comprehensive university in Grand Junction, Colorado.

The university has its primary campus in central Grand Junction.
