Mansfield, Massachusetts — A man was arrested Thursday afternoon after he went after a woman and her baby with a knife, police say.
At 2:06pm, the Mansfield Police Department received a 911 call from a female caller reporting a male subject in the apartment went after her and her baby with a knife.
Caller reported to Dispatch that she was now on the balcony of the apartment and the subject was still armed and inside the apartment.
All available Mansfield Sector Patrol Officers responded to 17 Francis Avenue, Unit 09, where they located the female caller and a toddler on the second floor balcony.
The caller was still on the phone with dispatch. Officers secured the perimeter of the building while Sgt. Ellsworth, Officer Trudell and Officer Souza made entry into the apartment from the second floor hall entrance.
The suspect, 27-year-old David Brock, was taken into custody at gun point and without incident.
Officers recovered two knives from the apartment that the subject had stashed in the tank of the apartments toilet prior to officer entry.
The suspect was transported to MPD where he was booked. He remains in custody.
Neither the mother or the child were injured in the incident.
