NEW YORK — (Scroll Down For Video) — Jonathan Snipes, 32, and boyfriend Ethan York-Adams, 25, were at Dallas BBQ in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood when an argument escalated and they were bashed with a chair. The argument allegedly started over a spilled drink.
Bayna-Lehkiem El-Amin was arrested Tuesday on felony assault and felony attempted assault charges, NBC News is reporting.
Snipes told DNAInfo that he and his boyfriend were attacked “specifically because they knew we weren’t their type of people,” and that the attacker directed racist and homophobic slurs at them.
El-Amin says he was the victim and says Snipes threw an object at him first.
