LAPD Seeks Suspects After 2 Los Angeles Residents Kidnapped

CALIFORNIA — LAPD detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information that would lead to the identification and arrest of a kidnap suspect.

On May 4, 2017 at 6:00 p.m., in the 1700 block of West 39th Street, LAPD Southwest Division officers were notified of a kidnap investigation.

Robbery Homicide Division and Robbery Special Section Detectives responded.

Police say ‘two Los Angeles citizens had been kidnapped by at least two suspects, with one victim released later in the day.’

On May 5, 2017, at 6:30 a.m., investigative leads were followed and with the assistance of Metropolitan Division, SWAT, the outstanding victim was rescued in the City of Compton and a suspect was arrested.

Keith Stewart, 32 years of age, from Los Angeles was placed under arrest for Kidnapping with a Bail set at $1,000,000.00.

Numerous items of evidence were recovered including weapons and narcotics.

Robbery Homicide Detectives continue to pursue various leads in an attempt to identify and locate the additional outstanding suspect.

The motive for the kidnapping has yet to be determined.
