Suspect in 5 NYPD impersonation robberies in custody

The New York City Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection to five police impersonation robberies which occurred within the confines of the 60th and 62nd Precincts. The details are as follows:

The individual is identified as 36-year-old, Arcelay Camilo

Incident #1 (62Pct): It was reported to police that on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at approximately 2:06 p.m. inside of a laundromat located at 7324 20th Avenue, an individual entered the location impersonating a police officer by displaying a police patch on his shirt and removed approximately $300, a wallet and cigarettes. The individual fled on foot southbound on 20th Avenue.

Incident #2 (60Pct): It was reported to police that on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at approximately 9:05 a.m. inside of a grocery store located at 2901 West 21st Street, an individual entered the location, identified himself as a police officer and displayed a shirt with an NYPD logo. The individual removed an unknown amount of cigarettes and approximately $2,500 in cash and fled in an unknown vehicle.

Incident #3 (62Pct): It was reported to police that on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at approximately 8:05 a.m. inside of 6901 New Utrecht Avenue, an individual entered the location, stated that he was a police officer, displayed a police patch on his shirt and removed nine cigarette packs and approximately $1000 from the register. The male fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Incident #4 (62Pct): It was reported to police that on Monday, April 10, 2017 at approximately 12:20 p.m. inside of a grocery store located at 2006 86th Street, an individual entered the location, identified himself as a detective and stated that he was there to inspect cigarette tax stamps. The individual checked the stamps, opened the cash register and removed approximately $562. The male fled westbound on 86th street toward 20th Avenue.

Incident #5 (62Pct): It was reported to police that on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at approximately 1:10 a.m. inside of a grocery store located at 6318 18th Avenue, an individual entered the location, identified himself as a police officer and demanded money. A 26-year-old male employee refused and the individual fled on foot in an unknown direction.
