Suspect Falls To His Death Trying To Evade Cops In NYC

BRONX — On Tuesday morning, around 6:30 a.m., Manhattan North Warrant Squad officers were attempting to serve a warrant at 2159 Morris Ave in the 46th Precinct–as officers were knocking on the door, the suspect climbed through the window, onto the fire escape and ascended to the roof.

The suspect was observed from the courtyard by cops climbing the roof and attempting to gain access to the adjoining building when the he fell to ground sustaining severe trauma to the body.

EMS arrived and transported 28-year-old Devon Wade to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to the New York Post, Wade had 19 prior arrests, ‘mostly for drugs and other non-violent crimes.’

An investigation is ongoing by NYPD’s Force Investigation Division.
