LAPD: Woman fatally shot while sitting on Metro train in Hollywood; gunman remains at large

CALIFORNIA – (LAPD) – The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a woman dead on the Metro Rail in Hollywood.

On Sunday, October 10, 2021 at about 5:11 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department Hollywood and Transit Services Division officers responded to a call of a shooting on a Metro Rail. The train was stopped at Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.

Officers arrived and found an unidentified female adult, who was suffering from gunshot wounds. The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.

Witnesses saw an agitated suspect pacing on the train. He had a verbal argument with the victim, who was seated nearby. The train stopped at Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street when the suspect shot the victim and exited the train onto Hollywood Boulevard in an unknown direction.

The suspect was described as a male Hispanic, wearing a blue jacket and blue shorts. The suspect was wearing a dark hat and a surgical mask.
