NEW YORK — Officers in Washington Heights recovered more than a pound of marijuana and illegal narcotics after stopping a driver who was blasting music from his vehicle Tuesday night.
Police Officers King and Delrosario were on patrol near 188th Street and Audubon Avenue when they heard the load music coming from a vehicle.
After stopping the vehicle the officers discovered the driver was in possession of more than a pound of marijuana, as well as illegal narcotics, scales, and drug paraphernalia. The driver was arrested and the contraband was seized.

“The officers of the 34 Precinct respond to many 311 calls for unreasonable noise, so they are aware of the fact that it’s an important issue to the community which we serve, especially late at night,” said  Deputy Inspector Chris Morello, precinct commander. “The driver was arrested and all contraband was seized. In the last month, 34 Pct officers have written 90 summonses for unreasonable noise.”
