Lewiston, ME — (News Release / Lewiston Maine Police Department) — On Monday, September 19, 2016 at 2:28 A.M., the Lewiston Police Department responded to 113 College Street looking for Jonathan Order, 10-10-88 of 113 College street apartments.
The Lewiston Police had been contacted by the Sabattus Police Department to advise they had probable cause to arrest Order on a domestic violence aggravated assault charge stemming from an incident which occurred in the Town of Sabattus, at approximately 00:33 on 09-19-16.
Lewiston Police Officers were able to make contact with Order inside of his second floor apartment at 113 College Street, but Order refused to open the door. While still in his apartment, Order made threatening comments toward the officers.
Officers negotiated with Order for more than 30 minutes, informing him that they had probable cause to arrest him. During that time period, Order opened the door and attacked Corporal Dumond with a knife. Order stabbed Corporal Dumond five (5) times, to his upper torso and hand, before retreating back into the apartment and securing the door.
Corporal Dumond was immediately transported to Central Maine Medical Center where he was treated for his wounds and later released. None of Corporal Dumond’s wounds were considered life threatening.
Order surrendered to police a short time later, and was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail. Upon his arrival at the Androscoggin County Jail, Order was found to have drugs on his person and he assaulted two Androscoggin County Corrections officers.
Order was charged with Aggravated Attempted Murder, Class A, Two counts of Assault on an Officer, Class C, and Violation of Conditions of Release, Class E. Additionally he was charged with Two counts of Assault on Corrections Officers, Class C, Trafficking in Prison
Contraband, Class C and Aggravated Assault Domestic Violence, Class B that occurred in Sabattus.
Order is currently still at the Androscoggin County Jail pending arrangement and additional charges may be pending.
