LOS ANGELES — A 33-year-old man was found guilty of killing his 19-year-old girlfriend at a motel in Baldwin Park, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said.

A jury found Nicolas Figueroa Manos of Montebello guilty of one count of first-degree murder.

Manos is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 27. He faces 25 years to life in state prison.

The body of Nancy Ester Mederos was discovered on June 30, 2017, when police were called to get the room occupants out, the prosecutor said.

Manos was in bed while the victim was found on her back on the floor just outside of the bathroom, the prosecutor added.

Officers said at the time Mederos had ‘sustained trauma to her upper body. The trauma was caused by an unknown object.’

According to evidence presented at the trial, she had been dead for six days.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
