FLORIDA — On Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 10:02 p.m., suspect Brian Littles entered a residence located at 2073 Broadway Avenue through an unlocked window without permission. Littles was in possession of a revolver which he had brought with the intention of shooting his ex-girlfriends new boyfriend.

As Littles came through the window he was observed by a five year old child who was in the living room. Littles immediately crossed the room and came to the doorway leading into the bedroom. He began firing his pistol in the direction of the bed. Inside the bedroom was his ex-girlfriend, a man, and the woman’s three year old son, victim Conner Jayce Mickens.

The man armed himself with a pistol and began returning fire at Littles. During the exchange, three year old Conner Mickens was shot in the head and died two days later. Conner’s mother also received a gunshot wound to the leg during the exchange.

On Friday, October 20, 2017, the suspect Brian Littles surrendered to police and was transported to the homicide office where he was interviewed. Littles was booked on the charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Florida Delinquent while the investigation continued.

On Thursday, November 2, 2017, after conferring with the Assistant State Attorney the decision was made to charge Brian Kevin Littles with the murder of three year old Conner Jayce Mickens, along with committing an Armed Burglary. Charges were officially added to suspect Littles today.
