NASHVILLE, TENN. — East Precinct detectives this morning charged Clint Osborn, 28, with criminal homicide for what appears to be the brutal stabbing death of his housemate, Alan Edwards, 61, inside Edwards’ 2611 Barclay Drive home.

On Sunday, two of Edwards’ friends received odd text messages from Edwards’ phone. When they went to check on him, Osborn answered the door. He ultimately let them inside, where they found Edwards’ bed stripped of its sheets and a female friend of Osborn in the home. Osborn also acknowledged that he had been sending messages from the victim’s phone.

One of the friends called police to check on Edwards’ welfare. When officers arrived at the home Sunday afternoon, there was no response at the door, causing them to force entry. Inside were Osborn and the woman. Blood was visible and there was an odor of decomposition. Osborn and the female were detained and detectives called. After obtaining a search warrant, Edwards’ body was discovered in a basement closet stuffed into a large plastic container that had been covered and duct taped. He appeared to have been stabbed to death.

During an interview at the East Precinct, the female made statements implicating Osborn in the murder. Osborn would not answer questions.
