LOS ANGELES — A 44-year-old man is facing extradition from Hong Kong to face murder charges for killing two nephews in Arcadia.

Deputy District Attorney Carolina Lugo said Deyun Shi aka Jeff Shi, 44, of San Gabriel faces two counts of murder with an allegation that the defendant used a deadly and dangerous weapon, a bolt cutter, in the commission of the crimes.

The felony complaint for extradition arrest warrant filed yesterday also charges Shi with one count of injuring a spouse with an allegation of personally inflicting great bodily injury and using a deadly and dangerous weapon in the commission of the crime, a maul.

The defendant is accused of going into his estranged wife’s La Cañada home and attacking her on Jan. 21, the prosecutor said. The following day, his wife’s nephews, Anthony L., 15, and William L., 16, were found dead by their mother at their Arcadia home.

If convicted as charged, Shi faces a possible maximum sentence of life in state prison.
