NASHVILLE (MNPD) – Investigation by Special Victims Division detectives led to the identification and arrest of Louis Felipe Martinez, 27, who is charged with kidnapping and assault after he approached a 17-year-old female walking her dog at William A. Pitts Park Tuesday afternoon and grabbed her by the elbow while his hand remained in the front pouch of his hooded sweatshirt.

In fear that he had a concealed weapon, and feeling that she was not free to leave, she walked with him. He then grabbed her by the face and kissed her. He also lifted her shirt, at which point the victim noticed a nearby pond with people present and told him she needed to take her dog there for a drink of water.

As they approached the pond, he took her cell phone, added a social media account to it, and then told her to contact him. He walked away without further incident.

Martinez was identified from his social media account. The victim positively identified him. He was taken into custody Thursday night at his Raywood Lane residence, which is near the park.

During an interview, Martinez admitted his involvement in this case. The investigation continues into other similar incidents. He remains jailed on $76,000 bond.
