NEW YORK — 49-year-old Ryan Roderick is in police custody after he allegedly walked into a Bronx middle school Friday and claimed to have a ‘chemical nerve agent.’

Roderick was reportedly wearing a hospital-issued wrist band and displayed a glass vile of liquid to staff members at J.H.S. 162—before they called the police.

The suspect fled the scene before cops arrived but was later taken into custody.

The New York Daily News reported: Roderick returned to the school about five hours later, cops said. When school officials realized it was the same man, he dropped the vial. Police arrested him and charged him with making terroristic threats, aggravated harassment, criminal trespass and unlawful possession of marijuana.

The liquid from the vial was tested at a state health department facility in Westchester Friday evening and deemed non-toxic, officials said. It will also be tested at a federal facility in Maryland.

Police say Roderick is mentally unstable. No injuries were reported.
