A Minnesota man stands accused of killing three people after donning a UPS uniform to gain entry into their home for what turned out to be a fatal robbery home invasion. The allegations were detailed in a criminal complaint filed on Monday.

Alonzo Mingo, 37, is charged with three counts of second-degree murder committed without premeditation but with intent, as stated in the complaint filed in Anoka County, Minnesota, district court.

Prosecutors say that surveillance footage and audio recordings from inside and outside the victims’ Coon Rapids residence support their claim that Mingo arrived at the home in his Nissan Altima shortly after noon on Friday. He purportedly approached the front door dressed as a UPS delivery person and carrying a box, gained entry, and brandished a firearm while demanding money. Accompanying Mingo were two individuals also attired in UPS uniforms, along with a third suspect, all of whom entered the residence carrying a box. UPS told KARE of the Twin Cities that Mingo had been employed as a seasonal worker until mid-January.

The complaint alleges that a male, believed to be the defendant, was captured on a bedroom camera fatally shooting Shannon Patricia Jungwirth, 42, who was subsequently identified by the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. Also killed were her son, Jorge Alexander Reyes-Jungwirth, 20, and her husband, Mario Alberto Trejo Estrada, 39, according to a statement issued by the office on Monday.

Two children under the age of five survived the ordeal and may have witnessed the violence, prosecutors stated. Initially, the sheriff’s office responded to the residence following an open 911 call where operators heard signs of a struggle in the background, the office reported.

Upon arriving, law enforcement discovered two males and one female deceased inside the residence, the office confirmed.

Following the incident, authorities issued a bulletin for the Nissan, which was intercepted later that afternoon along with Mingo, according to the complaint.

Investigators found a UPS uniform and box inside the vehicle, with prints on the box matching Mingo’s, prosecutors revealed. Mingo allegedly informed authorities that he had been at home throughout the day.

Court and jail records indicate that Mingo was detained without bail pending Monday’s filing. The fate of the other individuals purportedly involved in the violence remains unclear, with no other suspects identified.

The Coon Rapids Police Department, Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office continue their investigation and have requested the public’s assistance in providing any potential leads.

A motive for the killings has not been disclosed.
