OKLAHOMA — A man in Oklahoma City was arrested after allegations that he was riding a horse at Remington Park and whipped another man 20-30 times with a wooden board.

From KOCO: “Police said James Everett Smith, 65, faces assault charges after the victim accused Smith of riding his horse at the park and hitting the victim in the head with the board.

Smith said the victim owes him $1,200 and has refused to pay. Smith told police he rode up to the victim on Sunday and asked him for the money. According to a police report, Smith said the victim grabbed the reins to his horse, which caused the horse to leap.

A witness told police that the victim was standing at the witness’ truck when the incident happened. She told police that Smith pinned the victim between the door and cab to the truck with the horse and began hitting the victim with the piece of wood.

Police arrested Smith on complaints of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.”
