Jason Brown is now set to spend up to 28 years behind bars, the 25 year-old from Reno was jailed on seven counts, involving animal torture.
He abused animals and then documented the assaults on video.
Dog heads were found in his freezer and severed dog limbs in a room of the property he rented.
Judge Elliot Sattler said he’s never seen anything like this case during his entire career.
He compared Brown’s actions child pornography, where an innocent party is cruelly and sadistically victimised.
Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks said: ‘When you get to the level of those videosthat he made, he made to reveal himself.
‘It takes it to a whole other level. And so, you hate to think that there’s this kind of people in the world, but there are.
Brown, who could be eligible for parole in 11 years, offered an apology for his actions during the trial and the court heard he had a serious drug problem.
One witness said he knew Brown in high school, and that Brown had contacted him through Facebook with “disturbing” messages. He said he passed the information to law enforcement.
