LOS ANGELES — A man has been sentenced to 40 years in state prison for molesting three young boys dating back to 2011.

Last month, Eduardo Ciarelli, 40, pleaded no contest to two counts of forcible sodomy with a child under the age of 14 and one count each of forcible lewd act upon a child under the age of 14 and lewd act upon a child. A judge sentenced him yesterday and ordered lifetime sex offender registration.

On Jan. 8. 2011, the defendant sexually assaulted a 7-year-old boy at Belvedere Park in East Los Angeles. Six months later, he molested a 6-year-old boy at Rio Hondo Park in Pico Rivera.

In October 2017, Ciarelli attempted to sexually assault a 6-year-old boy at Smith Park in Pico Rivera. The boy’s father walked in, saw what was happening and held Ciarelli until police responded.

In all three cases, the victims went to the restroom alone where Ciarelli confronted them, prosecutors said.
