NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — The man suspected of trying to rob two Nashville banks Tuesday afternoon is now jailed on an unrelated charge of aggravated vehicular assault for allegedly attempting to run down his former girlfriend at her Couchville Pike residence at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Joshua Bart Bottoms, 31, who is on federal probation, was tracked to a Donelson Pike parking lot via an ankle monitor.  He was taken into custody at 7 p.m. Tuesday.  Bottoms is being held in lieu of $75,000 bond.

Detectives and members of the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force believe Bottoms is also the man who showed robbery demand notes to tellers at Bank of America’s 2669 Murfreesboro Pike Branch and Regions Bank’s 2550 Murfreesboro Pike branch during the 3 o’clock hour Tuesday afternoon.
