Maryland Man Assaults Girlfriend with Frying Pan & Bamboo Stick

CUMBERLAND CITY, Maryland — Police say a Maryland man beat his girlfriend with a bamboo stick and a frying pan in a bloody attack.

On Monday December 28, 2015, at 9:18 am, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a private residence in the 200 block of North Mechanic Street for an assault. Upon arrival officers made contact with Edward McGreevy age 53 of Cumberland, Maryland.

Officers immediately observed drops of blood on McGreevy’s eyeglasses and wrists. The victim in this matter was located in the upstairs of the residence.

It was revealed that McGreevy assaulted the victim with a frying pan and a bamboo stick. Cumberland Fire/Ambulance responded to the residence and transported the victim to the Western Maryland Regional Center for medical treatment.

McGreevy was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was process and served.

He was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing and was held on a $20,000.00 dollar bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
