A Texas middle school teacher is facing charges after police say she was caught in a hotel room with her former student, who is now 15.
28-year-old Crystal Nicole Rodriguez is accused of having an ‘improper relationship between educator and student’—she is being held on $20,000 bond.
Rodriguez reportedly confessed to having sex with the victim after police discovered the two in the hotel room together.
My San Antonio reported: Leslie Price, the chief communications director for San Antonio ISD, said Rodriguez is a coach and teacher at Page Middle School and the victim was a former student at Page. The victim is now 15 years old and is at a different school.
It’s unclear when the alleged improper relationship began.
“The District will be reporting the arrest to the State Board of Education and Human Resources has set a meeting today with the employee (SAISD was closed on Monday, February 19 for Presidents Day),” Price said in a statement. “We are working to gather information to ensure we have full knowledge of what has occurred.”
Rodriguez has been an employee at Page Middle School for two years.
