A migrant, of Afghan origin, attacked a Christian woman because she was reading a bible at an Austrian migrant center.
The 50-year-old Christian woman was attacked in accommodation in Timelkam, Voecklamarkt in North Western Austria.
Her attacked was a migrant from Afghanistan who ‘was offended’ that the woman had been invited by residents to discuss the bible.
When the migrant found out what the woman was doing, he ran into the kitchen and attempted to stab the knife into her upper body.
Her thick winter coat protected her from any serious injuries, but she did sustained an injury after she fell backwards from the force of the attack.
The man was swiftly detained by police and admitted that he overreacted, but attempted to justify it by claiming he was suffering from ‘personal problems.’
The man was not released from custody and was taken to Wels prison in Upper Austria.
In September, five Afghan migrants linked to sexual assaults were detained in Wels.
