Migrants in Denmark could now be forced to take mandatory sex education lessons after the Eritrean men were arrested on suspicion of rape last week.
Ministers are expected to back the move to force refugees to take lessons in consent after the 25-year-old girl was raped in the town of Hjørring.
Five other migrants were charged with rape in the same town last year and 34 per cent of convicted rapists in Denmark between 2003 and 2014 were either immigrants or descended from them.
Linda Hagen – who runs 34 asylum centers in Norway – said defended migrants, saying it’s difficult for people who come from countries ‘where women never go out’.
‘When you see a girl with a short skirt dancing at a party late in the evening, what kind of message will it give you?’ she told Danish site Metroexpress.
All parties in Copenhagen’s parliament are said to be in favour of the idea, which they claim will help integrate migrants into Danish society.
A number of ministers mentioned five-hour classes set up in Norway in 2011 to tech asylum seekers ‘a kiss is not a yes to sex,’ as they debated the move in parliament.
The Norwegian scheme was also launched following a number of sexual crimes committed by refugees near an asylum centre, The Local reported.
Sweden, one of many European countries struggling with the worst migration crisis since World War II, has become a top EU destination for refugees by issuing permanent residency to all Syrian asylum seekers.
In contrast, Denmark has sought to reduce the influx by issuing temporary residence permits, delaying family reunions and slashing benefits for newly arrived immigrants.
