Amber Alert Issued After Police Say Suicidal Mom Abducted 3 Children In Ohio

CANAL FULTON, OHIO — Police have issued an Amber Alert and are actively searching Northeast, Ohio for three abducted children last seen in the custody of their troubled mother, Tara Rooks.

Rooks has threatened suicide and has attempted suicide in the past, police said. They may be in the Canton, Ohio area. The children were supposed to be returned to their father on Sunday 2/7. A missing persons report was filed on Monday 2/8.

Police are looking for grey Kia Soul with license plate number FZH3275.

From WCMH: The victims are Brayden Rooks, 10, Carter Rooks, 6, and Colton Rooks, 12. Photos of the three children are not immediately available.

Brayden has blonde hair, green eyes, is 4’9 tall and weights 85 pounds. Carter has brown hair, is 4’8 tall and weighs 70 pounds. Colton has brown eyes and brown hair, is 5’4 and weighs 100 pounds.

Rooks is 38 years old, weighs 175 pounds and has blonde hair and brown eyes.

Authorities ask that you call 911 if you see the children, the Rooks or her vehicle. You can also call 1-877-AMBER-OH (1-877-262-3764) to be transferred directly to the investigating law enforcement agency or to hear the alert information.
