1.The Stardust Heist

Robbing a casino might seem to be a hard task for many people, but not for Bill Brennan who stole $500,000 from a Las Vegas casino in 1992. Not only did he take the money, but he also managed to walk out of the casino with a bag stuffed with half a million in cash and chips. It is interesting to mention that the man was working at the Stardust casino. What is fascinating in this story is that Brennan did not need to use guns or threats to take the money.

Many criminals can be envious of Brennan, as he made the perfect casino crime and he managed to get away with it. When the casino staff found out what happened, they called the cops, but it was just too late as Brennan simply disappeared into the thin air. According to his colleagues, Brennan was a lonely person, who was living only with his cat. Maybe that is the reason why he managed to get off scot-free.

Talking about Stardust Casino, a scandalous case with a casino that has a similar name sprung to our minds. Some time ago it emerged on the surface that Star Entertainment collaborates with major operator with links to organised crime to draw the attention of Chinese high-rollers.

2.The Berlin Poker Heist

In 2010, a gang of four robbers stormed a poker tournament, stealing the prize pool of over $1 million. The masked men who raided the Grand Hyatt are of Turkish and Arabic origins. During the robbery, seven players and a security guard were injured. The criminals were armed with machetes and handguns, and managed to escape with most of the money. One of the security guards got one full bag of money from the robbers. According to reports, the gang managed to take nearly $250,000. The Berlin police caught the criminals and three of them made confessions to the police officers. Consequently, all 4 poker heists were thrown in jail.

3.The Trash-Bag Cashier

In 2006, a casino employee called Elizabeth Williams decided to boost her bank account by stealing $50,000 from gambling machines. The woman stuffed the money in a trash bag, but she was caught red-handed as she did the crime in front of the security cameras.

4.Roulette Laser-Guided Scam at Ritz Casino

To the surprise of many roulette enthusiasts who believe that no one is able to beat the roulette wheel, three individuals managed to win more than $2.5 million at a popular London hotel-casino, and more precisely the Ritz Casino. This happened in 2006 with the help of an advanced laser and computer. Thanks to this technology, the three scammers could predict where the ball will land by calculating the number of rotations it will make on the roulette wheel.

The roulette scammers used the so-called “clocking” strategy, meaning that they were betting on neighboring numbers that the computer recommended. A Hungarian girl and two men from Serbia participated in this act. They visited the Ritz Casino and won over £100.000 on the first night. However, the casino staff did not notice them as the trio did not act suspiciously. It is interesting to mention that the Hungarian girl was in the blacklist of many casinos.

Even though the police caught the deceivers, they needed to release them as the electronic device did not directly interfere with the game.

5.Mr. Casino

When it comes to casino cheaters, Richard Taylor is a true legend. The man was nicknamed even “Mr. Casino” as he masterminded some of the most well-known casino scams. The man was mostly acting on the craps tables. Interestingly enough. Mr. Casino did not act on his own, he had a network of deceivers. What is more, some dealers were also part of Mr. Casino’s crew.

The man managed to orchestrate a plan to cheat two casinos, and namely the Foxwoods Resort Casino and the Mohegan Sun Casino, bagging $70,000 from the two gambling establishments. However, Taylor was caught as some of the dealers he was collaborating with testified against him. In May 2009, Mr. Casino was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
