Bowling Green, KY – The preliminary investigation indicated that Gary Thompson (59) of Bowling Green, KY entered the residence at 214 East Heights Ave and shot Sheila Nash (37), also of Bowling Green. Ms. Nash was pronounced dead at the scene by the Warren County Coroner.

Thompson had left the residence prior to law enforcement’s arrival. A warrant was obtained for Thompson for Murder-Domestic Violence.

Information was received of a possible location for Thompson on Loop Drive in the limits of Bowling Green where contact was made at approx. 1:53 am with him inside a mobile home at lot 82. At this point Thompson brandished a handgun and pointed it at Troopers and Deputies with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. Two rounds were fired by Trooper David Hall, but the suspect was not struck. At this time Thompson turned his gun on himself and fired one round, striking himself under the jaw. The Medical Center EMS responded and transported Thompson to the Medical Center of Bowling Green, where he was then flown to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN for a non-life threatening injury.

Upon his release from the hospital, Thompson will be arrested on the warrant for the Murder of Sheila Nash, where he will then be extradited back to Kentucky.

The investigation is still ongoing and is being led by Detective Mike May. No other information can be released at this time, but will be made available when possible.
