NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Murder fugitive Omar Guillen-Garcia, wanted for last October’s fatal stabbing of Leonard McKnight Jr. in the parking lot of a Murfreesboro Pike convenience market, is jailed without bond following his arrest today at a store on Nolensville Pike.

Midtown Hills Precinct Officer Brent Bauer, who stopped at the store for a routine business check, took Guillen-Garcia, 23, into custody after another person there advised that he might be wanted. Guillen-Garcia was subsequently questioned by lead Detective Will Mathis and admitted to stabbing McKnight, 43.

The investigation shows that McKnight was fatally wounded as the result of an argument and physical altercation with Guillen-Garcia after Guillen-Garcia refused to buy McKnight a cup of coffee.
