NASHVILLE – Violent Crimes detectives are trying to identify the man who robbed the Cash Express on Charlotte Pike Saturday afternoon, held an employee at knifepoint and stole her car. The suspect (seen in attached surveillance photos) entered the store just after 1:15 p.m. and acted like a customer. He filled out a loan application while he waited for another customer to leave the business.

Once he was alone with the employee, the robber went behind the counter and demanded money. The employee opened the safe and the register while the suspect pointed a pocket knife at her. After taking money from both, he asked the employee for her car keys. The suspect demanded she get into her black Cadillac Escalade with him, but as he approached the driver’s seat, the employee tried to run back into the business. He then attempted to run her over with the vehicle.

The employee successfully made it back into the store unharmed.

The suspect fled East on Charlotte Pike. Later that night detectives located the Escalade unoccupied on Jefferson Street underneath I-40.

Anyone with information on his identity is being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
