Man Suspected of Killing Texas Mother of 3 Arrested In Kentucky

HOUSTON, Texas — A man wanted for the murder of a woman in the Channelview, Texas area, has been captured in Lexington, Kentucky.

Homicide investigators say that Jerry Wayne Greer was staying at a local Lexington hotel on Saturday, February 9, 2019. Lexington Police officers set up surveillance on the hotel, and when he exited the hotel he was arrested without incident.

Greer will be extradited back to Harris County to face arraignment.

On Saturday September 1, 2018, 2:16 a.m., deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to an in-progress call at 17130 Market in East Harris County.

Upon arriving they discovered the victim, a 29 year old Edna McWorter deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

Deputies spoke with several witnesses that stated they observed the victim arguing with the Greer, 38, pull out a handgun and shoot the victim one time in the chest.

Greer then fled the scene in a dark colored Ford Mustang.

Greer at the time was wanted on felony charges of domestic assault.

Murder charges were accepted by the HCDA’s Office.
