NEW: Several Antifa Members Arrested After Assaulting Police Officers During Portland ‘Protest’

OREGON — (News Release / Portland PD) — On Sunday, September 10, 2017, seven people were arrested during multiple protests and a permitted march held in Downtown Portland. The protest events and march were held in Terry Schrunk Plaza, Waterfront Park and roadways in the downtown area over the course of several hours.

The intent of law enforcement today was to provide a safe environment for all participants, non-participants, and community members while ensuring the peaceful exercise of the First Amendment.

Portland Stands United Against Hate (PSUAH) held a peaceful assembly and march that started and concluded at Terry Schrunk Plaza.

Additional demonstrators gathered for protests at Waterfront Park and officers located and seized multiple weapons. Groups that gathered at Waterfront Park escalated in behavior, and threw rocks, irritant smoke bombs and other projectiles. As the demonstrators moved west, they continued to throw projectiles at officers. Two police officers sustained minor injuries as a result of today’s protest.

As the afternoon progressed, protesters left the area and traveled to Vancouver, Washington. The Portland Police Bureau sent personnel to Vancouver to support Vancouver Police.

The following people were arrested today and will be arraigned in Multnomah County Court on September 11:

27-year-old Tyler W. Bristow was arrested near Southwest Park Avenue and Southwest Taylor street on charges of Interfering with a Police Officer and Resist Arrest.

37-year-old Chad Skjei was arrested near Southwest 3rd Avenue and Southwest Taylor Street on charges of Interfering with a Police Officer, Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree, and Attempt Theft in the Second Degree.

18-year-old Thomas “Sarah” Wallace was arrested near Southwest 3rd Avenue and Southwest Taylor Street on charges of Assault on a Police Officer (two counts) and Harassment.

35-year-old Deaclan S. Lenartz was arrested near Southwest 3rd Avenue and Southwest Taylor Street on charges of Interfering with a Police Officer and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree.

42-year-old Naomi G. Seraphina was arrested near Southwest 3rd Avenue and Southwest Taylor Street on charges of Interfering with a Police Officer and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree.

27-year-old Alice E. Hall was arrested near Southwest 3rd Avenue and Southwest Taylor Street on charges of Interfering with a Police Officer and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree.

37-year-old Eli F. Richey was arrested near Southwest 3rd Avenue and Southwest Taylor Street on a charge of Interfering with a Police Officer.
