LONG ISLAND — The New York State Police are investigating a Trooper involved shooting on the Northern State Parkway near the Sagtikos Parkway.
On Wednesday, around 2:20 pm, the New York State Police responded to a call for a person with a weapon driving on the Meadowbrook Parkway.
Troopers were able to catch up with the vehicle on the Northern State Parkway, where the shooting occurred.
One person was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police said Troopers on the scene were not injured.
The Northern State Parkway is shutdown both eastbound and westbound at the Sagtikos State Parkway.
