NOW: Federal Agents Open Fire On Two Suspects At Wal-Mart

FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) — Two suspects were shot by Fairfield police and federal agents Thursday afternoon on the 2700 block of North Texas Street, according to a police spokesman.

Around 2:46 p.m. Fairfield officers and a team of federal agents confronted a suspect at the Walmart store at 2701 North Texas St., according to Officer Cleo Mayoral.

The suspect was shot during the confrontation, and his current condition is not known, Mayoral said.

A short time later, Fairfield police confronted a second suspect across the street at the Bennington Apartments at 2780 North Texas Street, Mayoral said.

That suspect was also shot, and his condition is also unknown, Mayoral said.

Police and federal agents remain on the scene investigating the shootings, Mayoral said.

The U.S. Marshals Office confirmed that its agents were involved in the incident but referred questions to Fairfield police.
