A Norfolk-Southern freight train derailed in McDowell County Friday morning, leaking asphalt into a nearby creek. Dispatchers have confirmed at least 17 cars and two tankers have derailed in the Vivian-Landgraff area between Keystone and Kimball in McDowell County.
