Donald Trump announced his candidacy for President of the United States in the 2016 election at the Trump Tower in New York City with the slogan “Make America Great Again.” His campaign manager is Corey Lewandowski.
Trump’s populist and nativist politics earned him support among working-class voters and voters without college educations amid heavy and frequent controversies in the news media. Trump’s most polarizing and widely reported statements have been on issues of immigration and border security, with Trump proposing deportation of all illegal immigrants, a wall on the Mexican border, and a ban on Muslims entering the United States, while making inflammatory remarks about Mexicans and migrants.
