All it took was one smart phone to destroy the reputation of a teacher as students and faculty members received obscene photos of their teacher and colleague.
David Galvan, 38, from California became increasingly bitter over his breakup with Richard Rosa and decided to take revenge by humiliating him with confidential pictures on her phone.
Galvan hacked into the John Muir High School in Pasedena, California teacher’s phone and he circulated four shirtless photos, two of which exposed private areas among 287 individuals, the details of whom he received from the teacher’s address book. The material was disseminated among students, teachers and school members and the message through which he sent them was entitled “Enjoy.”
An investigation was launched after several recipients reported the material to the police and Galvan was subsequently arrested.
“A criminal investigation was launched and detectives learned that Rosa was not responsible for the emails. In fact, he was out of the country at the time the emails were sent,” Pasadena Police Lieutenant Terysa Rojas said.
Upon hearing of the investigation being launched, Galvan attempted to flee to Oregon but was arrested in Hillsboro.
Galvan is being taken back to California, to face charges including false impersonation, identity theft, Internet/electronic impersonation and sending obscene photos.
