ALERT: 16-Year-Old Girl’s Throat Cut While Walking to School in Queens

A 16-year-old foreign exchange student from China was slashed in the face by an unknown attacker in Queens.

On Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 8:16 am near the intersection of 147th Street and 13th Avenue, in the confines of the 109th Precinct, an unknown male suspect approached a 16-year-old female from behind and slashed her with a box cutter causing an injury to her left cheek and throat.

“She’s slashed in her face, twice,” Robert K. Boyce, the New York Police Department’s chief of detectives, tells The New York Times. “Once from her ear to her throat, to the middle of her throat, and another part of the face as well.”

The victim was transported to an area hospital, where she was treated and is in stable condition.

The suspect, who was wearing gray hooded sweatshirt with a black hood and black stripes on the sleeves, fled on foot west on 13th Avenue towards 146 Street.
