NYPD Cops Track Down Violent Robbery Suspect

NEW YORK — (NYPD News) — Police officers in Manhattan arrested a man for assaulting and robbing a delivery person from a popular Lower East Side diner.

The victim, a 38-year-old man, was delivering food from the Odessa Diner to an apartment building located at 430 East 6 Street on Thursday August 11 when he was assaulted from behind and rendered unconscious.

The unidentified suspect removed over 300 dollars and fled.

Sergeant Dellauniversita and Police Officer Novellino of the 9 Precinct Conditions team responded and were told by security guards that video footage was available. The two officers worked with Detective Zwilling and Police Officer Conte of the 9 Precinct’s Detective Squad who later determined that the suspect fled into a nearby building and were able to arrest the man after conducting an investigation. The suspect was charged with robbery and assault.
