NYPD Officer Lifts Car To Free Pinned Trooper on Belt Parkway in Brooklyn

Brooklyn, New York – On Monday, around 4:40 p.m., a Trooper from SP Rockaways was conducting a traffic stop on the Belt Parkway when he was struck by another vehicle. As a result of being struck, the Trooper became pinned between two vehicles and was freed by another State Trooper and two NYPD officers, who physically lifted one of the vehicles to remove him.

The Trooper is currently in stable condition and being treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries to his leg. The assisting Trooper is being treated for lacerations to his hand that were sustained during the rescue.

It was unclear if any arrests were made. The investigation is ongoing.
