NYPD Officers Beaten With Baton In Brooklyn, Suspect Shot And Killed

NEW YORK — (NYPD / News Release) — At 1:10 P.M. Saturday, Police Officers from the NYPD’s Housing Bureau PSA 2 responded to a 911 call reporting a suspicious man in the hallway of 362 Sutter Avenue, in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn.

The first two responding officers, both in uniform, encountered a male suspect in the 9th floor hall.

As they approached the male requesting I.D., a scuffle broke out during which the suspect grabbed one of the officer’s metal baton and began to assault them.

The male officer was struck in the head causing a two-inch gash on the top of his scalp. The female officer was also struck several times in the head.

Both officers fired at the suspect who was struck several times,he has been pronounced dead at the scene.

Both officers have been transported to Jamaica Hospital where they are being treated for head injuries. They are listed in stable condition.
