The NYPD says a man armed with a knife was shot and wounded by police in Brooklyn on Tuesday night.
Police say an officer fired a single shot, striking the man.

The man was shot in the chest and was hospitalized in critical condition.
Investigators recovered a knife at the scene.
No officers were injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
