Preble, NY – On January 20, 2016, at about 3:22 a.m., New York State Police at Homer responded to a Cortland County 911 report of gunshots being actively fired from one vehicle at another vehicle while traveling on Interstate 81 southbound in the Town of Preble, Cortland County, NY. Responding law enforcement were advised that the victim’s black Honda CRV had taken Exit 10 and then after driving a distance on State Route 41, had crashed into a yard near the Village of McGray.
The victim vehicle contained three adult men and had visible bullet holes. One of the passengers had received a non-life-threatening gunshot injury to the hand. He was transported to Cortland Regional Medical Center. The unknown suspect vehicle had fled the scene prior to police arrival.
