PAWNEE COUNTY, Okla. – On Friday, Agents from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit arrested Travis McClain (1/31/1987). McClain was arrested after agents executed a search warrant on McClain’s residence located on E. 5280th Road in Cleveland, Oklahoma. McClain, a convicted sex offender, is facing one count of Possession of Child Pornography

During the execution of the warrant today, McClain was located in the bathroom of the residence and he refused to immediately come out. McClain had secured a ligature around his neck, tied the ligature to the bathroom door knob and sat down, which caused the door to open. Agents immediately entered the bathroom and began restraining McClain while simultaneously disabling the ligature. McClain was combative and did temporarily lose consciousness. Agents removed the ligature and McClain regained consciousness.
Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene and conducted an evaluation of McClain. He was cleared by the EMTs, transported to the Pawnee County jail and placed on suicide watch.

The investigation into McClain began on October 31, 2022, when OSBI ICAC received a request for assistance from North Florida ICAC who were investigating a report of a 12-year-old boy receiving inappropriate, sexually-related messages from an adult male in Oklahoma. During the OSBI ICAC investigation, agents confirmed the phone number used to communicate with the child belonged to McClain.

McClain was a convicted sex offender having been released from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections in January 2021. He had served ten years for convictions for Possession of Child Pornography (Tulsa County) and Second-Degree Rape (Pawnee County).

OSBI ICAC was assisted by the OSBI Northcentral Regional Office and Pawnee County Sheriffs Office on today’s search warrant and subsequent arrest.
