TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department arrested a man they say broke into his ex-wife’s home on New Year’s Eve:

On 12/31/2022 at (5:11 p.m.) Tulsa Police Officers were assigned to Burglary In Progress and a Protective Order violation at 4th and South 71 East Avenue.

The suspect, John Hunt, broke into his ex-wife’s house in violation of the PO she has against him. A family friend went to the residence and found Hunt sleeping on the sofa.

Hunt attempted to run out the back when he discovered we were on to him. He ran back into the house after seeing Officers on rear containment.

Hunt refused to come out after repeated knocks and commands. Officers saw Hunt in the living room when they opened the back door. He refused verbal commands and resisted the officers’ attempts to place him into custody. He was tackled to the floor.
