Five men have been detained recently in anti-terrorist raids in the French cities of Strasbourg and Marseille.

Paris prosecutor Francois Molins confirmed that the five men were planning to carry out a terror attack as early as next week.

He then went on to confirm that they were receiving their orders from an Islamic State group member based in Iraq or Syria.

Molins confirmed the details to reporters Friday, the day after anti-terrorism authorities took the step of holding the men in custody without charge beyond the normal maximum period, relying on a recent anti-terrorism measure.
