VAN NUYS, California — Hayvenhurst Avenue and Vanowen Street.
The small plane crashed around 1:00 p.m. local time.
The pilot of the aircraft was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
“The plane did not hit a vehicle or structure & did not catch fire,” the LAFD said.
It’s not clear what caused the crash.
Investigation is underway.
